St. Monica’s: South Australian Tournament of Minds Champions.
On Sunday September 11, St Monica's Parish School became the State Winner in the Primary Social Sciences section of the South Australian Tournament of Minds competition.
Tournament of minds is a creative problem solving activity where seven students are given six weeks to solve a complex problem and then present their solution to a panel of judges at Flinders University.
Our participation in the Tournament of Minds is one aspect of our Gifted and Talented program at St. Monica’s and our success is testament to the quality of teaching and support of creativity and problem solving undertaken at St. Monica’s.
Our winning team now travels to Hobart in October 2011 to compete in the Australasian National Championships.
Since 2005, St. Monica’s has won 1 National award, two State awards and two Honours in various categories.
